Cartless vs ClickFunnels

ClickFunnels hosts your funnel on its platform and charges from $97 a month for it. Cartless runs on your own WordPress site — free for the checkout and the bump, $199 a year for one-click upsells — and the pages are yours. If you want no hosting to think about, ClickFunnels is the easier start. If you already have WordPress, Cartless costs a tenth as much and keeps everything on your domain.

What each one is

ClickFunnels is a hosted funnel platform: pages, checkout, email, membership areas and affiliate tracking, on its servers, for a monthly fee starting at $97. You rent the whole stack.

Cartless is a WordPress plugin. It adds a one-page checkout, an order bump, one-click upsells and downsells, and real reporting to a site you already own. The pages are WordPress pages, on your domain, in whichever editor you use.

Where Cartless is better

Cost. The free plugin takes payments with an order bump. Pro is $199 a year for one site — roughly what ClickFunnels charges for two months at its entry tier.

Ownership. The pages, the orders and the customer records live on your site. If you stop paying for Pro the funnel keeps working; the upsell step just passes through.

Margin by mechanic. Reports shows what the product, the bump and the upsell each earned, less refunds, against their cost. It is the number a funnel is run on, and it comes with the free plugin.

Where ClickFunnels is better

  • Nothing to host. No WordPress, no plugin updates, no theme. You sign up and build; the platform carries the pages, the checkout and the email.
  • A page builder, an email tool, a course host and an affiliate system in one bill. Cartless is a checkout; it assumes WordPress and your own email provider.
  • A large body of templates, courses and consultants who know it. That ecosystem is real, and it is why the price is what it is.

Questions

Is Cartless a ClickFunnels alternative for WordPress?

For the checkout and the funnel steps, yes: a landing page, a one-page checkout with an order bump, a one-click upsell and downsell, a thank-you page. It does not include a page builder, email or course hosting; it uses the WordPress editor, Elementor or shortcodes for the pages and your own tools for the rest.

What does the price difference actually buy?

ClickFunnels' price buys hosting, a builder and bundled tools. Cartless assumes you have WordPress and charges only for the money features — free for the bump, from $199 a year for upsells. Over a year the gap is roughly $1,000 at the entry tier.

Can I leave ClickFunnels without losing my funnels?

The structure, yes — rebuild the pages on WordPress and Cartless wires the same steps. The page designs do not export; templates are ClickFunnels' own.
