Without WooCommerce
Selling on WordPress without WooCommerce
If you need a cart and a catalogue, you want WooCommerce, and this page will say so twice more. If you sell one thing, you do not — and every WordPress funnel builder still makes you install it. Cartless is the checkout that does not.
Do I need WooCommerce to sell one product on WordPress?
No. WooCommerce is a store: a catalogue, a cart, product pages, accounts. If you sell one product — a course, a kit, a subscription — the cart is a page your buyer has to get through, and a lot of them do not. Cartless is a checkout that does not need it: a buy button, a one-page checkout with an order bump, and a thank-you page.
What do funnel plugins like CartFlows and FunnelKit require?
WooCommerce. Both replace Woo's checkout and add funnel steps on top of it; CartFlows says in its own listing that it requires WordPress and WooCommerce to be installed. Selling one product with a bump through either means installing a full catalogue engine and hiding it.
What does Cartless do instead?
It is the checkout itself. A product with a price, a funnel of five real WordPress pages, an order bump beside the pay button, and — on Pro — a one-click upsell charged to the card already used. Stripe or PayPal takes the payment. There is no cart page because a buyer choosing one thing never needed one.
When should I still use WooCommerce?
When you sell a range and buyers put several things in a basket. When you need a Woo extension — a specific gateway, a carrier integration, a membership plugin. When you already run a Woo store and just want funnel steps on it, in which case CartFlows or FunnelKit is the right tool. Cartless says so on its own comparison pages.
