Install Cartless
Cartless installs like any WordPress plugin and needs one thing from you before it can take money: a Stripe account and a restricted API key, which Settings walks you through in three steps.
Install the plugin
Section titled “Install the plugin”- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New and search for Cartless.
- Install and activate it. A Cartless menu appears in the sidebar.
- Freemius will ask whether you want to share basic site information. You can decline; the plugin behaves identically either way.
Connect Stripe
Section titled “Connect Stripe”- Go to Cartless → Settings. The three-step checklist tells you exactly which permissions the restricted key needs and why — Cartless never asks for your full secret key.
- Paste the restricted key. Once it is accepted, paste the publishable key.
- Cartless registers its webhook with Stripe for you and shows the endpoint it created.
Take a test payment
Section titled “Take a test payment”- Add a product under Cartless → Products: a name, a price, and — if you know it — what it costs you.
- Create a funnel under Cartless → Funnels. It builds the pages for you.
- Put
[cartless_button funnel="your-funnel"]on any page, or use the Cartless blocks in the editor. - Open the checkout with Stripe in test mode and pay with card number
4242 4242 4242 4242, any future expiry, any CVC.
The order appears under Cartless → Orders. You are set up.
