Funnel templates

A funnel template is one JSON file holding everything that makes a funnel except the money it has taken: its steps and how they route, each step’s page content, the offers with their prices and copy, the products with their variants and images, and the display rules. Export one from a funnel you have built; import it on the same site to make a twin, or on another site to start there.

On the funnel’s Settings tab, Export as template downloads funnel-slug.cartless.json. Images are written as URLs, so the importing site can fetch them; a template packaged as a folder can carry image files beside the JSON instead.

Cartless → Import takes a file, or one of the two playbooks that ship with Pro:

  • Coffee — a pour-over kit with a bag of beans as the bump, a bigger bag as the upsell, a smaller one as the downsell.
  • T-shirt — a tee with size and colour, a name on the back asked after payment, a second tee as the upsell.

An import makes a draft funnel with its pages, so nothing goes live until you look at it. Prices, currency and the tax setting come from the file; change them before publishing if the site sells elsewhere.

A template names its products by SKU, never by name. On import, a product whose SKU already exists on the site is reused as it is; the rest are created, with their variants, price adjustments and images. Every product has a SKU — Cartless makes one up when you give none — so a template imported twice on one site reuses every product, and two products can never be mistaken for each other. Stock does not travel: a counted product starts at zero on the new site.

Orders, customers, stock, coupons already issued, A/B test results, and anything tied to the processor — a template imported on a PayPal-only site runs on PayPal.
